I’ve been working on this book for over a year and finally I have a copy of the first “proof” of the book in my hand!
I spent a few days going though it and have already found some details that need to be fixed so I will be working on them next weekend. The biggest things I see changing are some of the maps used in the chapter artwork. I thought having the map of the route for each leg would look ok at the bottom of the chapter heading, but compared to the chapter pages with the route as a watermark, they just don’t look right. I’m hoping to use watermarks for the rest of the pages.
But the cover, wow. The artwork Norm did is outstanding and it just shines beyond belief looking at it in print. I can’t believe it looks that great.
I ordered both a color and black and white edition just to see how well the photos would turn out. Both editions looks great.
This weekend I will work on finishing all of the grammar and text updates and push towards a final print ready version.
It’s finally coming together!
